We spent a few nights chillin’ at a very dog-friendly housekeeping B&B in Charlemont. The hostess has 6 rescue dogs and is very accommodating to doggy guests. A very lovely and quite spot for some down time and Shelburne Falls is only a 10 minutes drive for food and shops.

Patricia and Cavalier Cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. From the moment I booked until the moment we left, Patricia was available for any questions we had. Her amazing homemade scones and orange juice left for us every morning, comfortable, warm and inviting space and her absolute loveliness made this one of our new favorite Airbnb spaces. Looking forward to more visits with Patricia.

We had a lovely time at Patricia’s place with our dog. It was clean, comfortable, well furnished and exactly as described. A quick trip to a cute town with nice dining options. Although we only stayed a night, we had a wonderful time. The cottage was quite comfortable and quiet. Patricia is very welcoming. Our Jack Russell loved the place (Patricia leaves out a water bowl and doggie treats). Plenty of room near by to walk the dog. Overall a very good experience. The Cavalier Cottage is a place we would like to stay again.

We spent several days at the cottage with our two pittie mixes because we were white water rafting on the nearby Deerfield River. It’s tough to find places that take dogs, especially ones that do not have breed restrictions. Patricia is a true animal lover who welcomes all breeds. Patricia is very accommodating and welcoming. Our dogs settled into the cottage immediately. The road where the cottage is located is a very quiet unpaved road that is great for long walks. One thing to note: there is no cell coverage at the cottage and the Dish WiFi can be slow or spotty at times. This level of “unconnectedness” may be a plus or minus depending on what you’re looking for.

Just want future guests to know that my land line is always available for the use of guests. Cell phone service is available as you go back down the cottage road to Rt. 2 and Facebook messenger also works for folks who know how to use it.

Convenient, relaxing, welcoming, homey, comfortable, AND pet-friendly. Short drive to all local amenities, welcoming to all pets (with cat-loving friends and family who don’t like to leave their kitties for long, what’s not to love about that?), even birds! We adore Shelburne Falls and Western Mass/Southern Vt in general, so location was ideal for easy, scenic drives to 5 college area, North Adams, Brattleboro, etc., all the locales we love to visit. Patricia is a lovely lady, lots of local knowledge, readily available, but totally non-intrusive. Her herd of rescues provided a bit of entertainment, she goes above and beyond regarding hospitality to all. It was a pleasure staying here and we would definitely stay again. Cavalier Cottage was a lovely place, and my dogs and I enjoyed our stay tremendously. They got to play in the nearby Deerfield River and we visited Shelburne Falls. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Patricia made delicious scones for breakfast. I would highly recommend this place for a nice peaceful getaway.

The best vacation….We brought our 2 dogs Ellie and Emma for the weekend. Pat is by far the best hostess I’ve ever met. She is so pleasant and we didn’t need to bring anything. She had everything there waiting for us. She totally welcomed us. Each morning we were greeted by amazing freshly made scones and orange juice. The cottage is incredible. I was so pleased at how spacious and inviting it was. Our girls absolutely loved it. We wore them out. She told us several places we could go and there was information on it in the cottage waiting for us. We are definitely hooked and Will return. I highly recommend going there. You will not be disappointed.

It was a welcome change to visit a rental property so welcoming to our retired show dog. The apartment had everything needed, the stocked supplies and daily juice and scones were welcome. It was clean with nice decor & comfortable bed. Our dog is typically quiet (absent one late night need to go out!). A good size for a couple. As early-risers, we felt a little awkward getting out early am (because her pups would bark), but the owner didn’t raise the issue with us. It’s a nice location a mile up a dirt road from Rt. 2. There’s a small area for our dog to do her business, but a larger area at a riverside pullout a mile away for more exercise. The owner communicated well, and we had no issues to speak of.

Thanks so much for all of the thoughtful touches that made our stay so enjoyable, from your delicious scones and OJ to the selection of organic coffees (we made a pot every morning). We had a puppy chorus greet us each morning as we left for the festival – a wonderful start to the day.
We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was cozy and inviting, and my sister and I immediately felt at home. It had a large room that served as the living and sleeping area, a full well-stocked kitchen with a table by the front window overlooking the deck, and a bathroom with shower. Patricia was the perfect host, friendly and helpful but not intrusive. She had stocked the cottage with a lot of little extras that helped make our stay enjoyable, from the selection of teas and coffees in the kitchen to the Dr. Bronner’s body wash in the shower. But I must say the crowning touch was the tray of homemade scones and orange juice she left on the front deck every morning. They were delicious and still warm from the oven! We had a great time, and would gladly stay again. Best wishes to you and your pups.

We had a wonderful stay at Cavalier Cottage with our dog, Mika! It is, as advertised, the most pet-friendly AirBNB we have ever stayed in, and is great for new dog owners who want to feel comfortable bringing their pet on vacation for the first time. The location is fantastic – only 10 minutes from Shelburne Falls, and easy driving distance from other towns and activities along the Mohawk Trail. And of course we were spoiled (and well-nourished) by Patricia’s homemade scones and freshly squeezed orange juice every morning! We would definitely stay again in an instant, and highly recommend to others.

Patricia’s cottage is a very comfortable and charming home away from home. You’ll have a nice gated deck and pretty little yard to yourselves. We love the wall of floor to ceiling windows in the main room for the light and view. Our dog loves them too. The bed is super comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped. Patricia delivers her guests scones and orange juice each morning. She is a very nice host. We have stayed at Cavalier Cottage twice now.

We rented this cottage as it was near the 5 colleges, one of which our older daughter was graduating from. Our younger daughter is handicapped and needed a place with wheelchair access. This was the perfect cottage. We stayed 6 nights and had the best vacation.

I very much enjoyed my time at Patricia’s place. I was on a bit of a work-cation so I was in the cottage a lot of the time, but did take many walks with my dog down the country road which basically is everything you would want in a country road! Even saw a lovely deer. Take a walk to the right of her place and you will find yourself essentially alone in the woods. Really great place to be by yourself too especially if you do not want to be completely by yourself as Patricia is next door in case you should need anything. The studio was larger than I expected and very comfortable. The scones were a reason to wake up early and I enjoyed every one of them.

Patricia’s little B&B was very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed a nice weekend getaway from the city, hiked through the snow, and got to take our dog along for the ride! The town of Shelburne Falls is so cute! We can’t wait to come back when it’s more lively in the summer. It was also great waking up to scones and OJ every morning — very nice touch!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Cavalier Cottage. Patricia and her rescues are a delight. Take the time to read the short poem about each of her dogs. It will bring a tear to your eye. We especially enjoyed her freshly baked home-made scones and jams each morning of our stay. The cottage is centrally located close to Berkshire East Ski resort and the nearby quaint town of Shelburne Falls. We are already looking forward to booking our next trip!

Comfortable place to call home while I took a weaving course…
Patricia was pleasant to deal with. The morning biscuits and orange juice were appreciated. Dogs were loud each time we arrived but soon were quiet, just checking us out from their window perch. The place was well supplied and location was beautiful.

Charming Cottage
Thank you Patricia for your hospitality! We loved staying in your beautiful cottage while we were in transition moving from Arizona to Western Mass. as I was looking for a place for us to stay, that was dog friendly, our best choice was Cavalier Cottage. I loved having a kitchen and a very inviting place to call home for 3 weeks. We also wanted someplace our Lily would be comfortable after being in our truck for 5 days not knowing what was going on.
